If you鈥檙e someone kept awake at night by a book you can鈥檛 put down, or find yourself searching for answers to questions about humanity, justice, and morality in texts, English is likely a passion for you. Words have the power to transform place, time and culture. Words matter. They define the present, remind us of our past, and create a framework for our future.
Find Your Potential
天美影音直播 English majors participate in public readings and publish their work in national journals. Our students have assisted with the Conference on International Women鈥檚 Writing in the Twenty-First Century and collaborated with graphic design classes in producing a literary journal. English majors can also study away or participate in writing internships.
Active members of the Upsilon Pi honors society organize campus events, promote student engagement and excellence, and take advantage of special opportunities on campus and beyond.
Outcomes
Many of our English majors complete a dual degree in either Secondary or Elementary Education. Our nationally accredited education programs prepare you to earn a nationally recognized teacher鈥檚 license upon graduation in four years. Our English teacher candidates combine expertise in language, writing, and literature with school-based experiences focused on learning to teach by doing it.
When you are skilled with words, opportunities become limitless. At Keene State, we believe everyone deserves the benefits of a liberal arts education. But what English major jobs are out there? And how will you thrive in the professional world? How about as a user experience writer, copywriter, grant writer, medical or technical writer, editor, brand strategist, consultant, or public relations manager? And then of course, your goal may be to become an author, screenwriter, or playwright.
